November 20: The Anord have now finally decided on a course of action to solve their current issue. Perhaps too, they can figure out how to solve the strange weather berating the lands as well, making things difficult for all wolves, as the storm continues to rage on unchecked, winds tossing those around that attempt to use the air, and rains drenching all that choose to be out in the elements instead of in a warm, safe, den. The wolves of lightning will not be able to do this on their own, they will need to enlist the aid of others in their quests. Hopefully, they can forge their way through!
As well, you'll notice some minor changes being made here and there to the Website, specifically the Timeline on the World page, and the Seasons, wherein it specifies how the different seasons affect different elemental packlands. It is always a good idea to read and re-read the website as you continue on your merry journeys, for as things change and evolve, so too does some of our information! Finally, you'll notice that the "Adoptable Pre-Made Characters" Thread is undergoing construction. The finished project should make it easier to read and sort through, expect that amongst other things to be finished this coming weekend! ~ Cheryl
November 9: Just a quick FYI: I do keep track (and the board does as well) of ip addresses and can recognize emails that have been used prior when creating accounts. This is how I can tell if you have multiple accounts on the game. It is in your best interest then, if you are intending on playing a character, to register it yourself so that miscommunication is not had. (And yes, you can still ask me to register a character for you if you do not have an alternate email, that is kept track of manually) As well, due to people not understanding that we require you to state "other characters played here" on your application, it has now been edited into the Character Application Form for better clarification. Currently pending applications must edit this into their application before they can be accepted and it is thus required now on all future applications! Please help make sure our records are kept straight! Thanks! :) ~ Cheryl

Ready to Join A Pack?
Please, follow these instructions:
  1. Study the "How-To" Create A Character! -- a helpful process for all Joiners that is a must read.
  2. Please then partake of reading the How To Join Our Game guidelines and reminders in creating your character for our world!
  3. Post your application by creating a new topic in this forum (The Gathering the Elements forum) using the Character Application Form with your wolf's name as the title of the thread.
  4. Update your character's account profile on the forum via your control panel. Everything must be filled out correctly!
  5. NO WIPs Please take the time to fill out your character application but do not post it until it is complete! Doing so will cause it to be deleted or ignored, if you must save your application to work on for later, we recommend using a notepad document on your computer or even putting it in your board profile to save if you must.
  6. IF APPLYING AS A SECOND/THIRD/ETC. CHARACTER please be sure that you answer the question in the Character Application Form accurately. As well you MUST have the required posts before your new character will be accepted, and we DO check!
  7. IMPORTANT NOTICE: (10/31/09) As of this date, NO Tinean applications will be accepted until further notice. This also goes for Anord applications for presently active characters that wish another new character. Do not make an application for either the Tineans or the Anord, as it will be denied. This announcement will be removed when packs become open again. Thanks!

How To Join Us!
You have now read this very important Character Creation Topic and have a character created in your mind. Please keep in mind some very simple reminders and guidelines:
  • Understanding your chosen element is mandatory for successful completion of your application! Be sure you read your element's webpage, most especially for any special joining guidelines they may have!

  • If this is your FIRST CHARACTER on this board, you are restricted to the following four packs as the first choice of your character's element type: Air, Earth, Fire, or Spirit. Your subsequent characters, after gaining the requisite amount of in-character posts, may be of any pack that exists at that time that is allowing members. Need to know which packs are accepting members? Click Here to see each element's statistics!

  • You may NOT apply as a pup (a wolf under eight months of age) that was not born "in game". This means that the parent must be a currently role-played wolf of Paragon that has had pups (and you have gained the ability to have one via adopting the newborn) or you might adopt a pup that was either "dropped" by a role-player and/or otherwise placed up for adoption in the Pre-Made Character Thread. If there are no pups available in either way (either a parent that is seeking applicants for their newborns in the OOC forum or a pre-made character), then you must simply wait.

  • Your wolf MUST BE CURRENTLY and must have been all of their short or long life, a member of the pack you are joining. You are disallowed to join as a character with any history of being displaced, as displacement must be a process that is started and ended in character. It is meant to be quite easy to join Paragon, assuming your character has simply been "in the background" of the pack until you step forward to claim a spot in the pack base. The one exception is in the case of the Reioghan, whom also have a different history as specified on their webpage.

  • When fleshing out your history, please be aware that your wolves' parents should have been / should be members of the pack you are applying to be a part of. However, they can be deceased, missing, or otherwise as stated in your history, so long as your wolf, if they were young when this happened, was under the care of another pack member.

  • It takes 25 posts in character with one character prior to receiving permission to play another. So, please, do not apply with a secondary, tertiary or so forth character unless the one previous has enough posts!

  • If an application is denied, the moderator declining it will give a reason. Reasons can include: incorrect coloring, not having profiles completely filled out ("coming soon" is not acceptable), poor RP / writing examples (including poor punctuation / grammar, etc), improper account naming, lack of enthusiasm in answering the questions (ie. lazy answers), or applying for another character without following the rules about posting requirements. You will need to reapply (as a reply to the same thread) with the changes.

  • Your application can take 1-3 days to process, so don't give up hope! Keep checking back and if more than 48-72 hours have passed, please alert one of the administration! It was likely an oversight and we will get a response to you asap.
