Welcome to Paragon! ( Return To Your Element | Join the Elements? )

November 20: The Anord have now finally decided on a course of action to solve their current issue. Perhaps too, they can figure out how to solve the strange weather berating the lands as well, making things difficult for all wolves, as the storm continues to rage on unchecked, winds tossing those around that attempt to use the air, and rains drenching all that choose to be out in the elements instead of in a warm, safe, den. The wolves of lightning will not be able to do this on their own, they will need to enlist the aid of others in their quests. Hopefully, they can forge their way through!
As well, you'll notice some minor changes being made here and there to the Website, specifically the Timeline on the World page, and the Seasons, wherein it specifies how the different seasons affect different elemental packlands. It is always a good idea to read and re-read the website as you continue on your merry journeys, for as things change and evolve, so too does some of our information! Finally, you'll notice that the "Adoptable Pre-Made Characters" Thread is undergoing construction. The finished project should make it easier to read and sort through, expect that amongst other things to be finished this coming weekend! ~ Cheryl
November 9: Just a quick FYI: I do keep track (and the board does as well) of ip addresses and can recognize emails that have been used prior when creating accounts. This is how I can tell if you have multiple accounts on the game. It is in your best interest then, if you are intending on playing a character, to register it yourself so that miscommunication is not had. (And yes, you can still ask me to register a character for you if you do not have an alternate email, that is kept track of manually) As well, due to people not understanding that we require you to state "other characters played here" on your application, it has now been edited into the Character Application Form for better clarification. Currently pending applications must edit this into their application before they can be accepted and it is thus required now on all future applications! Please help make sure our records are kept straight! Thanks! :) ~ Cheryl

Rules for Entering Pack Lands:

It is very simple; you enter pack lands, and you will be challenged by a pack member. Be it the Alpha, Beta Hunter, or an Omega, a pack member is allowed to challenge entrance of any foreign wolf. It may be just a friendly inquest or it could be a snarling denial of access. No wolf has automatic permissions or allowances to be on foreign pack lands unless previously arranged by the Alphas. Only the Alphas may give permission in such a way. If your wolf enters another pack's lands without stopping first at the border to ask for entrance, they are completely at the mercy of the other pack . . . which oftentimes can be fatal. Don't say you weren't warned . . .

The grey and silver male’s dark ears pivoted atop his head as he listened to the many voices being exchanged, voices he could not put a name on as he didn’t really know any of the pack intimately. A certain enraged voice caught Raid’s attention and he adverted his eyes towards a grey female. Nariko. Raid had met the female briefly when roaming around the pack borders, having conversed with her before. The male’s judgement upon the female then had been non-existent, but as he watched her now, Raid couldn‘t help but shake his head disapprovingly. Bright sapphire eyes adverted around the group as he took note of Aphelion’s son, the stance and anger that brewed within the young male at hearing the grey female’s words. Swallowing as he watched silently, Raid sniffed the air and peered towards Aphelion himself. The atmosphere was growing more and more tense, something that wasn’t needed at this precise moment, but unfortunately it had already arose.

Allowing a grunt to escape ebon lips, the male released a small sigh and peered towards the small gathering of wolves, eyes trailing towards Aphelion as he awaited the male’s reaction to Nariko’s act of disrespect and angry words. Raidon’s eyes looking from father to son. Pink tongue flicked out from his muzzle as he watched the dark navy male respond towards the disrespectful female with a snarl, electricity surging through his pelt. Raidon wasn’t at all surprised by Aphelion’s reactions. If Raidon was in Aphelion’s paws, he would indeed have done the same. Sapphire eyes watched as the bulky male slam into the wolf, taking a dominant stance over the female. Ears twitched upwards as he listened to the words that came from the navy male, Raid’s eyes trailing towards Nariko with not even a glimmer of sympathy within his stare as Aphelion spoke to her.

Finally allowing a grunt to escape his muzzle, Raidon tore his gaze away from the Chieftain and the Shaman and glanced towards the others, his sapphire eyes landing upon Sweet Thyme as the masculine voice of Aphelion addressed her for advice. That was something Raidon and probably all of the pack wanted to know. What was it that they were to do next?

Ooc: LATE! I'm soooo sorry guys!
Everything was wrong, to Rain. She knew full well that this had happened before, but though she'd prayed hard to the Celestial not to let it happen again, it had. They'd been demoted to a tribe, and now this. Shaking her head, the normally loving Rain felt a surprising amount of bitterness toward Sweet Thyme. After their Luminary had gone, there had been chaos.

The Mediator was so involved with her thoughts that she missed the loud howl, though her subconscious noted it. Lowering her muzzle slightly, she felt a turmoil within her mind that needed to be released. What could have happened, to make Toirniuil once again abandon them? Had they not proven their worth? With a snort, Rain turned her head toward the skies, feeling only sadness all of a sudden.

It was then that she remembered the howl. With a barked curse, she jumped up and bolted for the meeting area, coming into view rapidly. Her slender blue-gray frame was obvious as she pelted forward, and eventually came to a sliding stop. Looking around, she dipped her head toward Aphelion, before moving to sit beside Raidon. He was someone familiar, as was her brother, and Nariko, and the two pups that Aphel had fathered.

It was then she caught Sweet's scent. With a slow turn of her head, the bicolored orbs locked onto the female, and a dull ache developed in her chest. She had missed her friend, but no longer did she ask for Sweet's forgiveness for leaving, for her once-Luminary had done the same.

"I apologize for my lateness, Aphelion, I was...off key. However, I am here now, and will do whatever you ask of me, and will help however I can." Rain's voice nearly cracked, but it stayed pretty well steady. However, the tone was saturated with confusion and pain. She didn't like this, not one bit.

when rocks impregnible are not so stout

At Nariko's outburst Sweet's initital reaction was shock--could the grey-hued wolfess really be so callous? And then there was a slow, building anger, lips curling up from her teeth, and the only thing that kept her in her place was that she couldn't really do anything. That fact rankled deep in her stomach, and so with a sort of smug satisfaction she watched Aphelion do...just what Sweet would have done.

All eyes were soon upon her--she tried to suppress the gratification she felt. Because one look at the dismantled Cliffs reminded her of how bad the situation truly was. "I think Nariko...is right." She admitted, though grudgingly. "If we split up into two, maybe three groups...well, um...we could probably figure out what to do then."

Buried in my heart

Aphelion snorted hot-headedly but kept his irritation in check. More time for that later, when this pack was back to normal and he was hopefully just a beta again. He gave a softer nod to Rain, a limp tail wag at her entrance. He did like the spry wolfess, she had common sense about her that could even reach through his hard head.

“You're here Rain, that's all that matters.” He reassured before his eyes went to Sweet with a firm nod. He thought the same and again his frustration bubbled up at Nariko's outburst. Dumb antick wolves, when I need you most you bail on me because of egos and "lack of respect". I don't like you don't mean I don't respect you. Dammit! He spun to face them again, beside Sweet and his daughter.

“Then we'll break up, three wolves per group. Scourer the pack lands, but if you find nothing - push out farther. We may have to go to the other packs for assistance..." He trailed off on that thought, looking at each of them. “Koda, choose two more wolves to go with you. After he's chosen, Sweet you may choose. I'll take who is left." He wanted it to be his children, he wanted them all for himself, but he wasn't sure if smothering them right now would be the best thing to do. Treat them like adults...they don't need you, even if you need them.

Upon hearing that Sweet said she was right, Nariko held in the snort she wanted to let out and remained silent. Now that the ball was rolling it would be time to get a move on. Nariko still remained silent and didn't care what others thought of her at the moment. It was not about her. It was about the pack and if they wished to find Kyndle who was missing they would have to make sure they had a home to go back to first, otherwise there would be no survival for them. She understood what Kyndle meant to the but Nariko also understood what was more important at the moment.

Nariko admitted to herself though, that she could have done better about her outburst. She hadn't had family so she had no real emotional connection like the others had so she had trouble understanding it. Perhaps that was where their differences lied. At one time she had a family but in a second they were all taken away from her and she lost that emotional contact with them. Nariko wondered perhaps this was why she did not feel the same as Aphel did for his wife. No matter. All that was important to her was finding the damn orb and returning their home to the proper state it was in before.

ooc:Shouldn't the ones that Aphelion named as "leaders" of the groups post and pick wolves? ? I think that's what everyone's waiting for!

Breathe Light on My Shadow

She continued to listen, even though all the while her mind was going over how to look for her mum. She'd have to find her some day, they couldn't just leave her out there wherever she was! It seemed that her da wanted them to break up into groups, which was fine, and she looked around for Koda and Sweet. They'd surely say something now right?

Her little tail twitched in anticipation. Well if the others said that they needed to do something, they needed to start NOW. The Anord wolfess did not like this new cliffs at all, and the fact that maybe, just maybe, if they were able to go out and look for things to fix it, she could also look for her mum too! So she stayed silent and waited for the others to speak.

.:OOC:.
OOC Text Here

Finally, Rain arrived. Koda greeted her with a disappointed stare and watched as she sat next to... Raidon?! He looked at her with an obvious question in his features. Why didn't she sit next to him? Did he smell? Black nose slowly went down to his side to smell his fur. Nope, just his normal stench. Well then. He ignored her for the time being and listened, barely, to what Sweet was saying. They were going to split into three groups... to do what, exactly? They had no idea where to look, who to ask, or even begin for that matter! Heaving a sigh, his ears twitched as Aphelion began speaking. Sweet, he got first dibs!

Silver eyes scanned the group. Koda wanted wolves that were strong in mind and body, but it tended to be difficult finding both qualities in any wolf. Instead, he settled for the company of the group he would be with. It was probably obvious who he was going to choose, he never wanted to separate from Rain. "Rain and Raidon will accompany me. Where is it we should begin?" They were looking for the Orb, that's all his mind was focused on, and he would do anything to find it. If Thunderbird wanted to trade his life to test his trust in the Celestial, he would give his life so the pack returned to normal.

how the mortals put the blame

Sweet looked on silently as Koda made his picks, Rain and Raidon. Damn. She'd sort of been counting on Rain, to at least give her some peaceable company, but also because Rain was a good wolfess, and the two had searched together for the Orb before. But it made sense that Koda would pick his sister. And Raidon...well, she didn't know who that was, but Koda seemed to be acknowledging the one next to Rain, which made sense as well.

That left Odanta, Torihn, Nariko, and the other wolf whom she didn't know. Great. She was heavily tempted to pick Odanta and Torihn--again, they'd be nice company, and she had sort of a soft spot for the two young wolves--but it was only fair to let Aphelion have them. Which meant...

"Nariko, and, uhm...you." She sighed, with an apology in her voice as she addressed Ran.

I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me,

I remembered each flash as time began to blur...

.:OOC:.
*dances*

.:IC:.
Rán sighed as Koda snapped up his sister and the male sittign beside her. From the "cues" she'd noticed in Rain and Raidon, they seemed quite close. And Koda seemed a bit upset at this. Then again, why should he not? It would mean having to share his sister with another wolf; even worse, another male. She sighed. She had often wished that she could understand the feeling of having a sister or brother to protect, but she did not. Which was probably a good thing, in retrospect; it was hard enough for two wolves, much less three. She would have liked to be grouped with rain, as the female was the only friend in the pack that Rán had at that point in time. Which wasn't really surprising. She'd not been in the pack very long, and she'd had no friends beside her mother before leaving her, so it was only to be expected.

She raised her head as she heard her name. It was the former Luminary, sweet Thyme. Well, at least she was with one decent wolf. Rán almost couldn't help but frown when she glanced to their other team mate. Almost. Her blue eyes were kept carefully passive, as was the rest of her face, and she nodded as she stood and padded over to settle back to the ground beside and a bit behind Sweet. "Rán is the name my mother gave me. I pray I am well met," she murmured in barely nmore than a whisper of her silvery voice.

"Speech."

Aphelion disciplined the older female for her comments, and Torihn watched without emotion, though he secretely enjoyed the display. She deserved it for saying such a thing, and the expressions on the other members of the pack proved it. After, the discussion went on normally, and he remained silent as the others debated.

Breaking up into groups would be a great idea. Silver and indigo eyes lifted to glance at the other wolves, and he swallowed once. He really didn't know anyone here aside from his sister and father. What if Koda or Sweet chose him? He knew of Sweet, but Torihn hardly knew her. Besides, she had left for a while, hadn't she? Why did she choose now to come back? Purple ears flickered as his thoughts continued on, the quick silence growing awkward for the young male.

Eventually, Koda picked two others. Rain - he had met her, but only once and very briefly. And then Sweet chose her other group members, which left the Vent family. Again, he suppressed his emotions, quietly turning to look toward the chieftain; this couldn't be better. Bi-colored eyes drifted to his smaller sister and he dared a grin, figuring they were going to go search for Kyndle. They were all three together, so why not?

Sapphire eyes peered upwards as he noticed Rain’s late arrival. Dark silver ears twitched forwards as he watched her sit beside him, Raid’s stare trailing over towards Koda warily. Allowing a small sigh to escape his ebon lips, Raidon turned away from Koda and peered towards Rain once more, a friendly smile upon his muzzle in a silent greeting. Turning his attention back towards the meeting, the silver and grey pelted brute listened to the discussion. Curious stare trailing towards the purple wolfess, Sweet Thyme as she confirmed that Nariko was right. Raid gave his shoulders a roll and stretched out his chest, spine cracking softly. So the plan was to split up into groups of three and from there they may possible find out what to do? Raid couldn’t help but frown slightly, but his expression changed as he caught sound of Aphelion’s voice. Accepting the plan, Raidon listened as the Chieftain chose Koda and Sweet to select members to join them. Giving his head a nod to himself, Raid remained sat and silent as he awaited for them to choose.

Raid was shocked as soon as he heard his name called out, straight after Rain’s. the male swallowed as he turned to look at the wolf that had picked them. A soft sigh escaped ebon lips as he stared at Koda. Confusion struck the male as he peered towards Rain and gradually lifted himself from the ground, edging his way towards Koda.

It was quick and easy after that. Koda chose his sister and the male beside her, Sweet was generous with her choices and left his children to him, taking Nariko and Ran. He wagged his tail towards Sweet, though it was limp and tired, and at Koda's question he looked out over the shattered realm.

“Koda you're group take towards the sea, Sweet yours to the North and we'll go towards the forest.” Aphel had wanted to take the north himself but wasn't really willing to risk any danger with his children - he couldn't help that - and figured that with the Luminary/former or however that was working, plus Nariko - both who went through the first orb process - he could hope that they would be smart about it.

“Sweet and Koda are both in charge of their groups. Listen to them. They have a right to react if you don't." He eyed both groups before he huffed. "If you don't find anything then continue out further. Grasslands, Shores, even talk to the other packs if you feel that's what must be done. If you find anything, use the howl to the best of you're ability. We'll all need to be together in the end." With that he figured it was enough direction and they could go as they please. He nodded to Torihn and Odanta with a small, fatherly smile and started down the cracked cliff sides.
